MILOŠ J. KOHOUT

A painter and sculptor who occasionally jumps from his attic studio into the film industry in various fields, be it scenographer, screenwriter, photographer, cameraman, director, editor and creator of film magic in post-production, etc.

He started painting relatively early and already in 1978 he had his first large solo exhibition in the Michalská Gallery in Prague, and from that year a long series of solo and joint exhibitions followed not only at home but also abroad.

He has won numerous domestic awards and international successes. His paintings are represented in the private collections of our and foreign collectors and far across the ocean. Several of his works are owned by leading foreign galleries.

He is currently preparing an exhibition at ZICO Gallery in Michalská street, the opening will take place at the end of September. It is a small return after many years to the scene of the crime. At the end of August, he finished his exhibition in the 3KinoArtPasáž gallery "When the flowers wither", and in the past few days he completed the graphic and visual version of the book by the talented writer Monika J. Čapková "The Restless Rose", which is now on the book market. He created exclusive graphics for this book in an edition of twenty pieces. He is also preparing other solo exhibitions outside of Prague.

A film advertisement for Coca Cola was created based on the motifs of one of his paintings.

It wasn't long before he started directing commercials. With his first advertisement "Varta" he was nominated by the Association of Advertising Agencies of the Czech Republic,

He was awarded at the "London International Awards" for the "Olympus" advertisement.

Won gold for "Panasonic" at "5th Advertising Festival Of The New Europe"

At the international competition "Promax" in Los Angeles, he receives the prestigious award "Golden Hit" along with a statuette for image graphics for TV NOVA.

In addition to commercials, he shoots Czech and foreign video clips, e.g.:

Foreign - Blur, Unigue II, Alexa Carington, Bilgeri (2 months on MTV top 40 and European Music Video Award winner)

From Czech - Sluníčko, Despondancing, Lobby, Prague Selection, Monkey Business, Lucie Bílá, Iveta Bartošová and others.

He also works on television graphics for ČT, Nova, Prima. His media coverage is really wide.

He created audiovisual presentations for the breweries "Pilsen Urquell" and a very interesting presentation on 16 synchronously connected projection surfaces for "Staropramen".

He collaborated artistically with the Laterna Magica theater "Odysseus" and the black theater of Jiří Srnec "Alice in Wonderland". He shot the controversial short film "Sen" with Karl Roden in the lead role and the psychological story "Oko".
